Merry Christmas, one and all
Christmas is a wonderful time.
It makes young children excited, and it gives the older children and adults a vibrant, youthful spirit.
Much of the celebration is focused on the spiritual, the commemoration of Christ's birth.
But this is also a time for sharing with one another. That sharing spirit extends to both materials, such as gifts, and time.
We make time for family visits we might make too few of during the rest of the year.
We make time to fix huge meals that are going to be shared with our families and extended families.
We make time to sit around with proud, happy youngsters on Christmas morning as they discover the toys and other gifts waiting for them beneath the tree.
We also share a spirit of charity during Christmas.
We find ourselves in much better cheer, so that cheer is easier to pass along to the people we know and even to the strangers among us.
This is a wonderful time to embrace one another, to give thanks for the people who make our lives so enjoyable and so special.
