More than 300 exotic birds stolen from Melbourne properties
Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of hundreds of exotic birds from Melbourne's outer-east.
Police say the thieves cut through fences and padlocks to steal the birds from several properties in Cannons Creek, Devon Meadows and Pakenham Upper between late December and last Friday.
More than 300 birds, including macaws, ringnecks, finches and parrots, have been stolen.
They are valued at more than $60,000.
Detectives believe the thefts are linked and are appealing for witnesses.
They also want to speak to the owner of a maroon or dark orange Holden Commodore sedan seen at the scene of two of the thefts.
